Movement and Acting Workshop
Launching our series of training workshops for actors and non-actors is Movement and Acting. This workshop explores the importance of inter-disciplinary approaches to actor training, focusing on the theatre performer’s exploration of physicality through contemporary dance and physical theatre techniques. The workshop is designed for all people interested in creating theatre through physical movement.
About the Instructor
Joanie Chow Suet Yu
Graduated from BFA (Hons) in Dance at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, majoring in Contemporary Dance, Joanie is a versatile performer. She is trained in voice and clarinet and began her performing career as a Musical Theatre actress. Once she had discovered her passion for dance, she decided to return to full-time training, learning Contemporary Dance techniques. Joanie has attended numerous Dance Festivals around the world, including the Beijing Dance Festival and East Point West Interdisciplinary Festival of Embodiment, and has been the recipient of several scholarships.
